A Step Back in Time: The Grand Victorian Ball for Peace 1865

Experience a "Step Back in Time" Come to Virginia City, Montana. Learn about the influence of the Civil War in Montana's early history. Experience the fashions and customs of this era... Join us for a Victorian High Tea at the Bennett House on Friday at 4:00pm. Attend the authentic melodrama and musicals at the Opera House at 7:00pm. The Grand Victorian Ball for Peace 1865 is Saturday, commencing at 7:00pm with a promenade on the boardwalk followed by the Grand March and dancing in the Community Center Ballroom. A light repast will be served at 9:30pm. Dance to the music of the special orchestra directed by the music historian, Professor R. Alexander James. Classes on dances and customs are provided the afternoon of the ball at 1:00pm and 2:00pm by dance mistress Mme. T.J. Wald. You are highly encouraged to dress in 1860 - 1880 period costumes but not a requirement for spectators. All events welcome children.
