Do you dream of discovering the soul of the American West? Are you looking for a personal sanctuary? Either way, the Stone House is your journey's end. We're on the historic main street of a 125-year-old mining town, at 5,300 feet in elevation. Here, you'll find comfort, hospitality, and undisturbed historical treasures surrounded by natural beauty.
Upstairs in The Stone House, you'll find a recently renovated spacious and sunlit suite with a full bathroom and kitchen. A short flight of stairs leads to a spacious sleeping loft. Big windows on three sides offer abundant natural light and views of mountains and Montana's famous big skies. Cap off a perfect day of hiking with a soak in the huge, antique, freestanding bathtub in the newly remodeled bathroom. A cheery freestanding gas fireplace easily fills the entire space with warmth on the chilliest winter nights while ceiling fans and mountains breezes will keep you cool and refreshed all summer long.
Downstairs in The Stone House, you'll find a simpler suite, with a private bathroom and studio space. Inspired by artistically oriented lodgings in rural France, the downstairs was designed with day-painters in mind. The en-suite partial kitchen is ideal for whipping up a quick breakfast or making a savory stew at the end of your day.
Alluring and intriguing destinations abound in and around Basin. Ease into the unhurried rhythms of our historic mining town by strolling along main street, where you'll find poignant reminders of the past almost everywhere you look. Ramble through the nearby Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, where you'll find fast-flowing mountain streams, ruins and relics, old mining trails, and wildlife, including deer, elk, coyotes, martins, and even bears. Roaming farther afield, the beautiful Boulder Valley is Big Sky country at its finest, where low mountains, rolling hills, and endless plains stretch away endlessly beneath a vast and stirring canopy of sky.
