The Altoona Ridge Lodge, nestled deep in the woods of the Flint Creek Range of Southwestern Montana, sits at an elevation of 7,600' above sea level. Located at the end of a 10 mile dirt road, this is the perfect getaway from the pressures of every day society. The lodge is the ultimate access to the backcountry.

The lodge is built on a west-facing slope, and during your stay - you will be completely 'off the grid'. The heat in the buildings comes from wood-burning stoves, all the wood we use is harvested on our property. Our power and lights are fueled by propane.

Winter at the Altoona Ridge Lodge welcomes skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, and snowmobilers looking to climb the high peaks and enjoy the thrill of fresh powder. Summer at the Altoona Ridge Lodge offers hiking, fishing, swimming, hunting, mountain biking, wildlife observing, view seeking, star gazing and relaxing.

At Altoona Ridge Lodge, the guests have the freedom to summit the mountain, or summit the couch, a retreat for those who want to find the peace and quiet only available at the Lodge. We offer fully guided all-inclusive vacations or self-guided trips.

The sunsets and star filled sky are completely unfiltered by city lights, smog, and buildings. Whether you come alone or with a group, the lodge is exclusively rented to each party.

Fun and adventure awaits you at the Altoona Ridge Lodge where we blend the ruggedness of the mountains with the comforts you are used to.

The three buildings of the Altoona Ridge Lodge provide you with all of the creature comforts you will need for your getaway into the back country. In the Lupine Chalet, you will have access to a full kitchen with a 3 bin sink, a full set of cookware, plates and silverware, a full size stove, and a fridge to keep your beer cold in the summer time. The Wild Rose Chalet holds a wood fired sauna, and in the summertime there are showers and a flush toilet. The Bear Den Chalet boasts a separate sleeping area with private rooms with queen beds, allowing you to sleep while others chose to stay up. The Lodge is built to provide comfort during your getaway to the quiet and secluded solitude of the mountains of Western Montana.

The lodge is designed to accommodate parties of up to 6 people, and you can choose between self guided and customized hosted trips. Hosted trips offer an all-inclusive backcountry adventure at a great price. All-inclusive packages include three home cooked meals per day, snacks, lodging, guides, and transportation, offering lodge guests an unbeatable backcountry experience.
