State Parks in Southwest Montana: Anaconda Smoke Stack

The old Anaconda Copper Company smelter stack, completed on May 5, 1919, is one of the tallest free-standing brick structures in the world at 585 feet. The stack dominates the landscape like the Company once dominated the area’s economic area. The stack may be viewed and photographed from a distance where interpretive signs detail its history.

The Anaconda Smoke Stack is located at the east end of Anaconda on 4th Street.
