Southwest Montana was born on the boom and bust, mining is at the core of our history and built many of our towns. Miner’s Union Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate this rich mineral history.
Philipsburg is located only a couple of miles from Granite Ghost Town, now a State Park, but once a thriving mining community known globally for its silver production. Mining is continues to be an important industry in the state.
Join us in downtown Philipsburg for a full day of mining competitions (attended and participated in by miners from all over the Northwest). This is a great opportunity to watch the work and precision that goes into this way of life, and a perfect way to spend a Saturday in September.
