A beautiful and quiet sport, nordic skiing is a great way to experience the splendor of a Montana winter. MacDonald Pass Trail

Located 14 miles west of Helena on Highway 12, MacDonald Pass Trail offers over 27 kilometers (16 miles) of ski trails in four connected loops.

Stemple Pass Ski Area is located 37 miles north of Helena and offers 32 km (19 miles) of ungroomed ski trails in four connected loops for beginner to intermediate cross-country skiing.

The Mount Haggin Nordic Ski Area trail system, located just 11 miles south of Highway 1 near Anaconda on Mill Creek Highway (MT 569), has over 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) of groomed trails reaching to the Continental Divide.
