Avon Montana
Picturesque Avon, Montana sits on the banks of the Little Blackfoot at the intersection of US Highway 12 and MT Highway 141. The name Avon comes from the Welsh for river: avon. Perhaps the mountains and river bottom around Avon reminded a Welsh settler of home. Today, Highway 141 is the easiest route from Helena to the lakes of the Swan Valley, making Avon a perfect gateway into the wilds of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest and the Flathead National Forest. Never drive by Avon without stopping at the Avon Family Café for a hearty meal, breakfast served all day, or a slice of delicious homemade pie. Whenever you stop at the café, chances are high that you'll run in to some local ranchers solving the world's problems one mug of coffee at a time.
