Just south of Helena on Interstate 15, Montana City makes a perfect place to stop before venturing into the Helena or Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forests to the south of town. Montana City began as a placer mining camp in the wake of the Last Chance Gulch strike, and today has been redeveloped as a flourishing suburb of Helena. The convenience of Helena, and the small-town atmosphere make Montana City a warm and inviting place to spend some time.
