Nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Grandstreet Theatre is a community-powered theatrical organization working to elevate the human spirit and brighten Helena, Montana through live theatre and theatrical education. Grandstreet produces eight mainstage productions annually in our 200-seat beautiful turn-of-the-century Romanesque granite church and is also home to a nationally recognized theatrical education program welcoming over 350 students a year. For almost 50 years, Grandstreet Theatre has provided Montanas capital region with opportunities to experience and participate in locally grown, sustainable, world class theatre. Today Grandstreet stands as a crucial home for Helenas artistic community.
Grandstreet major programming includes:
1) Grandstreet Theatre School: a nationally-recognized after-school theatrical education program for students from 2nd grade through high school, which produces two mainstage productions a year featuring the students.
2) Mainstage Community Productions: Four annual productions featuring community actors in our 200-seat theatre. Productions range from intimate new plays like A Dolls House: Part II to large musicals like Bright Star.
3) Summer Theatre School & Summer Stock: all & half day camps teaching a range of theatrical skills for K-12 students. Classes include a two week-long summer theatre camp, an intensive Acting Conservatory for students 13+, mini-camps, and Theatre for Social Skills for neurodiverse students. Additionally our Summer Stock productions are two musicals with mixed casts of professionals, community members, and conservatory students providing learning opportunities and exceptional audience experiences.
