Snowkiting

Snowkiting

Snowkiting is an extreme sport that not only gives participants an adrenaline rush, but also a unique perspective. Combining snowboarding (or skiing) with kitesurfing, this is a sport that you may know little about. Snowkiting is actually easier to learn than kitesurfing as it requires less wind and there isn’t the extra challenge of getting up on the water. Snowkiting is also a great spectator sport, with several events in Southwest Montana hosted each winter. Snowkiting offers the thrills of a ski hill while providing the freedom to explore Montana’s backcountry - check it out for yourself!

Georgetown Lake is a hot spot for the sport and the Montana Snowkite Rodeo is held each year on the Big Hole Pass near Jackson, Montana.
