Our museum and research center are temporarily closed due to our expansion and remodel. We plan a Grand Re-opening in November 2025 with a 16,000-square foot Homeland gallery, which tracks the history of Montana from 13,000 years ago to the present; a Charles M. Russell Gallery that is almost three times the size of our current exhibit; and a display of our Poindexter Abstract Art Collection.
Also, our expanded Research Center is moving to the main floor to make it more easily accessible. We also will have a new events center, classrooms, and cafe!
Our museum store remains open on the Helena Walking Mall in the historic Securities building at 101 No. Last Chance Gulch, and you also can shop online at mths.mt.gov
In the meantime, you can view our collections online at https://mths.mt.gov/Research/ResearchCollections or contact us at mhslibrary@mt.gov or 406/444-2694.
We look forward to seeing you in 2025!
