Our museum and research center are temporarily closed due to our expansion and remodel. We plan a Grand Re-opening in July 2025 with a 16,000-square foot Homeland gallery, which tracks the history of Montana from 13,000 years ago to the present; a Charles M. Russell Gallery that is almost three times the size of our current exhibit; and a display of our Poindexter Abstract Art Collection.
Also, our expanded Research Center is moving to the main floor to make it more easily accessible. We also will have a new events center, classrooms, and cafe!
Our museum store remains open, and you also can shop online at mths.mt.gov
In the meantime, you can view our collections online at https://mths.mt.gov/Research/ResearchCollections or contact us at mhslibrary@mt.gov or 406/444-2694.
We look forward to seeing you in 2025!
