Explore exhibits for all ages! Our Mackay Gallery features a rare collection of the celebrated Cowboy Artist Charles M. Russell. The Neither Empty Nor Unknown exhibit illustrates the land here was neither empty nor uncharted when the Lewis and Clark Expedition traveled through. Our newest exhibit, Who Speaks to You? Portraits from the Permanent Collection, includes an eclectic mix of paintings, set side by side to encourage visitors to look at portraits in a new way.
The Society library and archives are an extensive academic draw; with over 1 million newspaper pages, oral history recordings, photographs, and more. PLEASE NOTE: The archives will be closed on January 1, 2023 through late 2024 for facility upgrades. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for children and $12 per family. Free admission on the second Saturday of each month.
