The Mountain Sage Gallery (the Sage) was originally the Upper Missouri Artists, but after a name change and a new location is still well known for its display of original artwork by local Montana artists. Open all year, the gallery provides optimal opportunities to visit with and enjoy the work of member artists, who also staff the gallery. Visitors will be able to see original paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic and mixed media; also unique fused and molded glass pieces, bronze sculptures, rock mosaics, stained glass, drawings, scratchboard, photography, pottery, gold and silver jewelry, and fine wood furniture.
Artists at the Sage incorporate a variety of styles from realism to abstract, including Montana landscapes, historical sites and scenes, figures, still life (floral and other), cityscape's, and animals.
Displays at the Sage are changed completely every three months, with monthly additions/subtractions by member artists. The large gallery space affords a lovely environment in which to absorb the finest of Montana-produced works of art. Classes are sometimes offered using the large workroom in the back of the gallery and all area artists and interested people are invited to a monthly critique on the first Saturday of every month.
