Enjoy Much Ado About Nothing in Philipsburg’s Winninghoff Park on Wednesday, August 26 at 6:00 PM.
Montana Shakespeare in the Parks returns for its 54th season, once again sharing the joy of live theatre with communities across Montana and beyond from June through September. Performed under the open sky and free to attend, this cherished summer tradition brings people of all ages together for evenings filled with storytelling, connection, and shared culture.
This season features two of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays - The Merchant of Venice and Much Ado About Nothing - as the company travels to more than 60 towns across five states. Each performance promises a memorable experience set against the breathtaking backdrop of Montana’s iconic Big Sky.
This summer’s production of Much Ado About Nothing explores the delight and uncertainty of love, reputation, and the powerful role community plays in shaping how we see one another. Set in the wake of war, this spirited comedy follows returning soldiers and their gracious hosts as they become entangled in romance, witty deceptions, and ever-changing perceptions. Through a lively ensemble of characters, Shakespeare reveals how easily we can be misled - and how resilience, honesty, and compassion can ultimately restore trust and connection.
Directed by Johamy Morales.
If you’re a big Shakespeare fan and are able to head to Anaconda the night before this performance, travel to Anaconda for the The Merchant of Venice on August 25.
