Enjoy Much Ado About Nothing in the charming town of Pony on Saturday, September 5 at 5:00 PM at Pony Park.
Montana Shakespeare in the Parks returns for its 54th season, bringing free, live theatre to communities across Montana and beyond from June through September. Performed outdoors under the open sky, this enduring summer tradition invites audiences of all ages to gather for evenings of storytelling, connection, and shared cultural experience.
This season’s tour features two of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays - The Merchant of Venice and Much Ado About Nothing - with stops in more than 60 towns across five states. Each performance offers a memorable experience set against the vast beauty of Montana’s Big Sky.
This summer’s Much Ado About Nothing explores the complexities of love, the fragility of reputation, and the powerful role of community in shaping perception. Set in the aftermath of war, the story follows returning soldiers and their gracious hosts as they become entangled in romance, clever deceptions, and shifting understandings. Through a spirited cast of characters, Shakespeare shows how easily we can be misled - and how honesty, resilience, and compassion can ultimately restore trust and connection.
Directed by Johamy Morales.
To take in another Shakespeare performance, head to Townsend on September 6 for The Merchant of Venice at Heritage Park.
