Experience the Wonders of the Night Sky at the Montana Learning Center!

Join us for an unforgettable evening under the stars at the Montana Learning Center at Canyon Ferry Lake! This summer, our state-of-the-art astronomical park will be open to the public for three exclusive weekends. Each event begins after sunset with a captivating presentation and Q&A session led by a guest expert, followed by a guided tour of the night sky using our world-class telescopes. Each evening will feature a unique topic and promises to be both educational and inspiring.

Dr. Kelly Cline is Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science at Carroll College in Helena, Montana, where he teaches undergraduate courses in astronomy, physics, and mathematics. Widely recognized for his engaging and well-attended public lectures, Dr. Cline is known for making complex concepts in astronomy, physics, and mathematics accessible to broad audiences. He earned his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Colorado Boulder and has served as a visiting lecturer at several universities in Scotland and Ireland.

  • Capacity: Limited to 100 attendees per event
  • Tickets: $25/adult (18+), $15/child (ages 10–17)
  • Note: Attendees must be 10 or older. Tickets are non-refundable. Events are held rain or shine, with telescope viewing subject to weather.

The Montana Learning Center offers youth STEM camps, teacher professional development (in-person and online), and engaging astronomy programs for students, educators, and the public. Nestled on the shores of scenic Canyon Ferry Lake, the Center provides a stunning backdrop for exploring Montana’s breathtaking night skies.
