Platinum Street Jazz amd Bachata Class

Come on up to the Covellite Lounge for a monthly dance class sample with one of Butte's adult dance class teachers, followed by live music from Butte's long-running jazz band. Platinum Street Jazz rehearses every week, and is always tailoring their tunes to be perfect for all kinds of dancing: tango, swing, ballroom, latin, two-step, line, and more!

This month's Bachata Dance Demo is taught by A to Z Dance/Butte Ballroom! Ashlyn Smith and Zach Howery are both professional ballroom dance teachers and met when they began their competitive dance partnership in 2015. While they may have got their start in professional ballroom and competitions, their true passion lies in social and partner dancing. Their mission is to help people fall in love with social dancing in a fun and easy way. They love teaching their weekly classes at the Butte Elks Lodge, and seeing the community of social dancers grow.

"Platinum Street Jazz is a 2-7 musician ensemble, performing together throughout Southwest Montana since 2005. Our core group of upright bass, guitar, keyboard, percussion, and voice plays for NYE soirees at the Finlen Hotel, the Empty Bowls fundraising dinners, Uptown Butte Artwalk, Discover Deerlodge, Ability Montana, the Butte Symphony receptions, and for dancers and jazz lovers at various Elks Lodges, bars, and private events. We offer golden oldies, jazz standards, ballroom, swing, and Latin dance tunes, and are always adding new music and requests to our repertoire."
