Mean Girls is a 2004 American teen comedy film about homeschooled Cady Heron who moves to a suburban high school and becomes entangled with the school's popular clique, "The Plastics," led by the ruthless Regina George. Cady's plan to infiltrate and destroy Regina's social reign backfires, as she becomes a mean girl herself before learning a lesson about self-acceptance and breaking down social hierarchies. The film, based on Rosalind Wiseman's book Queen Bees and Wannabes, became a cultural icon for its insightful and humorous portrayal of high school social dynamics and the pressures of conformity.
