Founded in 1987, the museum is in a renovated historic industrial building with a modern addition. The museum's 17,000 square foot exhibition space shows all art media, contemporary and historical. The museum shop displays the work of regional artists, craftsmen, and writers.

The museum admission cost is $10 per person (18-69 years old). Members, Veterans and Active Duty Military, and 70+ are Free. Every Friday is FREE FOR ALL and many community exhibits are also free and open to the public. The museum shop is ALWAYS free.
