To preserve the past for the future is the mission of the Jefferson Valley Museum. It depicts the history and heritage of the Jefferson Valley. We can rediscover this rich history in the large restored 1914 red barn that serves as our museum.
This area was once home to Native American tribes, fur trappers, miners and homesteaders who raised horses, cattle and produce for the area's mining camps. By the end of the 19th century, the Northern Pacific Railroad arrived, followed by the Milwaukee Railroad, and life in the valley changed forever.
We keep genealogy cards for those working on family history. Historic pictures and research material are also available.
Our museum is free for visitors. Donations are welcome and appreciated.
